Spring/Summer 2014 Fashion: All White

by Cheryl Nyasha

“Women think of all colors except the absence of color. I have said that black has it all. White too. Their beauty is absolute. It is the perfect harmony.”
― Coco Chanel, Chanel

I was reading Vogue and Harper’s Bazaar and couldn’t help but notice that a good amount of the runway looks were all white. During fashion week we saw Rick Owens, Balenciaga, Valentino, Hermes and countless others grace the runway with fresh crisp white pieces. This spring, bring out the whites and the natural makeup for that fresh, clean, and effortless look.

I created a couple of sets on Polyvore for the coming spring. Although a lot of the pieces I use to create my outfits are expensive, the looks can be recreated with items from more affordable stores such as H&M, Forever 21Zara, and even Goodwill.

In my selection of outfits below, I used a bold red against the white in order to give the looks an edge, but that is personal preference of course. When you wear all white, it is important to wear similar whites for a continuous and polished look.
